I have been attending classes at IM=X for 3 years and I love it!!! It's not like any work out I have ever done - I actually look forward to it! This is a very special place - the owner and staff are not only great instructors, but also really nice, caring people. I always feel welcome there because it is such a friendly and relaxing atmosphere. My initial perception of pilates was that it only works the "core" or stomach area, but I quickly learned that it actually works every muscle group while working the core. All my life I struggled with finding an exercise regimen that I enjoyed enough to keep it up. I finally found it 3 years ago when I joined the IM=X Pilates Studio in Kansas City. I had never performed Pilates prior and now am a strong supporter. After the first session I could feel the positive changes in my core. Each session is not only a workout, but the deep breathing exercises relax and de-stress you also. After a couple of months, I dropped inches to places I thought would forever be larger than I’d like because of heredity. Those saddlebags have never been the same! For me, surviving breast cancer involved multiple surgeries and radiation treatments that left me feeling weak and very protective of the affected areas. I have been taking classes at IM=X Pilates for almost two years and the workouts have strengthened me as well as greatly improved my range of motion and flexibility (great help for my golf game!). My Dr. suggested that I should have a bone density screening so I did. The results were within acceptable levels from the waist down, but the upper body density showed decreasing bone mass. The technician suggested that I take a Pilates class to possibly correct the problem. I scheduled a consult with Debbie Bivens, the owner of IM=X, the very next week. She took me through a personal class (at no expense to me) to see if I would like the program. I had no qualms about signing up immediately. My body has changed in appearance & endurance in only 10 weeks and it is the most enjoyable exercise program I have ever benefited from. I can hardly wait until my next bone density screening to see the results.

Prior to joining IM=X Pilates Studio in KC, I had never tried Pilates, but had tried many other exercise options (running, step aerobics, Yoga, etc…). Nothing has even come close to the total body work out, and nothing has challenged me in a more positive way. I’m definitely still learning, but with each class I can feel my core becoming stronger… I’m more motivated after each class I attend!

I’ve been attending IM=X Pilates Studio for nearly three years. I love the complete “stretch” that it gives my body and how so many of my muscles are used during a one hour workout. It has helped my lower back pain by keeping all the muscles and tendons stretched and unknotted, and I haven’t had a back incident since I started! I also love the spin classes! I burn about 500-600 calories in one class! It’s a fantastic aerobic workout without pounding my joints! But, by far, the best thing about IM=X Pilates Studio is the owner, Debbie, and her excellent staff, along with the amazing students I have met and now count as friends. This place isn’t just about working out – it’s a safe place of support, encouragement and fun! We don’t just work out together, but go bowling, to the movies, healthy cooking classes, etc.! This is a group of people who care about each other and like any good family, it’s never too big to accept a new family member! Thank you, Debbie, for creating this “family” who have become such an important part of my life!
